Live and Frozen FoodsIf you would like to ask any questions regarding the products on this page then please use the form at the bottom of the page. Live foodsLive Foods are a vital food item for many species of pet Reptiles, Amphibians, Birds and Invertebrates in the UK and more and more people are now realizing the benefits of feeding wild birds. All of our Livefoods are sourced direct from the breeder. This means that we can be sure of consistently high quality and rapid delivery. CricketsCrickets are the staple food for most of the insectivorous animals kept in
the UK for a number of reason. They are relatively cheap, available all the year, are nutritious, easy to use and come in a range of sizes. There are
several species available each with its own benefits and drawbacks, but we
supply the Black Cricket (Gryllus bimaculatus) and The Silent Cricket (Gryllus
assimilis). These are available from very small "micro" size at
only a few millimeters long to "Extra Large". Both
species are sold in convenient pre-packs or in bags for bulk quantities
and are delivered directly to you via the Royal Mail.

An old favorite, Mealworms were probably the original livefood. Although used much less these days they are still important, particularly for birds. Their inability to climb makes them the simplest food to give to wild birds. Again they come in Pre-Packs or bulk bags.

Waxworms
Although the high fat content makes them unsuitable for a staple food they are good as a treat or "pick me up" for stressed animals. They are also great for Wild Birds as the high energy content helps with generating body heat during the long cold winter nights.
Fruit Beetle Grubs
These huge barrage balloon larvae have a very soft skin but still posses a mean set of jaws. Loved by many animals but only really suitable for larger species.
Available in small, medium and large its much easier to buy a tub than spend hours digging around in the garden. Loved by birds of course but also suitable for many other species including Hedgehogs and Badgers
Fruit Flies have been available for many years. The species we supply is slightly larger then the normal fruit fly and still has the advantage of being flightless. A new species (or rather mutant) however is the flightless house fly. Although its lack of flying ability is genetic, and so is variable from generation to generation, these Curly Winged House Flies mean that you can provide a larger food item but without having hundreds of flies buzzing around the place! Flies will also climb upwards and so is particularly suited to arboreal species.
Frozen Rodents are used as the main food for many species of snake and bird of prey. We supply the usual Rats and Mice, as well as Hamsters, Guinea Pigs and Rabbits. All of our Frozen Rodents are sourced from specialist breeders. We DO NOT use wild caught animals.
Day old chicks are most commonly used food for birds of prey, although these days more and more people are using them to feed wild Foxes and badgers! We also supply Quail.
